Arduino Uno Mini LE Cube
I thought this would be a quick weekend circuit sculpture project. However, I underestimated how small the Arduino Uno Mini LE is.
Glad I designed a PCB instead of bending the wires to plug into the Uno directly.
Designing the soldering jig was a lot of fun. At this scale, a jig is essential.
Wiring is straightforward. No extra chips were used to drive the cube.
The Arduino drives sixteen Anodes (vertical pillars) via 1K resistors. Four common Cathodes (horizontal layers) chose which layer is active.
Multiplexing is handled in code using a timer, so animation routines could freely use loops and delays without worrying about maintaining the multiplexing.
Commenting on the YouTube video is the best way to ask me questions about this project.
