KENBAK-1 Case
The KENBAK-1 is considered to be the first personal computer to be created. It's almost impossible to find a case of the original KENBAK-1. The next best solution is to create a reproduction case. Fortunately, Chris Davis (who created most of the CAD files) was able to find the original drawings for the Bud Industries case that was used for the KENBAK-1.
I took those files and modified them to my needs. I was unable to reach Chris to update his project so, if you're interested in building this case to these specs, feel free to use the attached CAD files. All credit goes to Chris.
The top and bottom pieces are made with mild steel, powder-coated blue (Matt - Process Blue). You will need two of these - one for top and one for bottom. Holes for rubber feet and spacers will need to be drilled manually.
The front panel is brushed aluminum (color silver white). You can also find the vector graphic under "schematic and layout" that can be used to print the labels on the front panel.
The rear panel is mild steel, powder-coated blue (Matt - Process Blue). It accepts two small fans, a power cord and a fuse holder. Additional holes will need to be drilled manually.
The side pieces are CNC machined aluminum (color silver white). These are the only machined pieces, the others are bent sheetmetal.
When ordering, make sure to select "CNC" for side pieces and "sheetmetal" for all others.
Additional hardware (bolts, screws, etc.) will need to be acquired separately.
