Is it normal to put multiple power layers on a pcb?

I want to do my first 6 (or more) layer board. If my circuit has a 5v bus and a 3.3v bus, is it normal to have these voltages on separate layers? If so, what is the best way to implement this? ( I am fairly new to PCB layout )Thank!
