Accuripe

### DESCRIPTION

We are a group of Mechatronics engineers from Canada's most innovative engineering university; the University of Waterloo.

We are currently working on our capstone final year design project to design a consumer kitchen appliance.

Our goal is to reduce household and consumer-level food waste.

How? By designing a device that can quantitatively and nondestructively measure fruit ripeness, and accelerate and/or decelerate the process of ripening.

### TECHNICAL DETAILS

The sensing technologies to be used are: weight, spectroscopy, machine vision, and gas sensing, all coming together using advanced data fusion algorithms.

The preliminary mechanical design is pictured below:

### Words to PCBWay

Having finished the initial proof of concept, we are currently in the next stage of our prototype design where we must create custom integrated PCBs to integrate all of our processing and sensing. We're asking PCBWay to help us in our goal by sponsoring the PCBs that must be created to make our vision a reality. In return, we will make sure the faculty and students at the University are well aware of the generous contribution and support of PCBWay, and think of you the next time they need a PCB fabricated.
